Baby Stroller

TIPS TO CHOOSE DOUBLE STROLLER

At the time of having twins, twins or at the birth of a child and having another child, the dilemma of which stroller is chosen to be able to move both children efficiently and comfortably for both the children and the parents is presented.

Before choosing, you should ask yourself some questions: What use do you want to give the stroller? How do parents usually move? In car or walking? Are the children of the same age? Is the stroller required to become a cradle for both children? How wide do you want the seat to be? Do you enter the elevator? Do you pass through the doors?

Taking into account these needs, there are several types of double baby strollers which are divided into two main categories: online or in parallel, each with advantages and disadvantages that must be assessed.

Strollers online

These are baby strollers with one child sitting in front of the other. These strollers are as wide as can be an individual stroller but logically longer, although not always twice as long.

In this option, there are models where the children are sitting facing the front, the parents or one in front of the other.

The most common are those where both children are facing forward, one reclined completely and the one that goes forward without a reclining seat, model designed for children of different ages and that the shape of the stroller is not as long as the options where both are reclined, which are very long, difficult to maneuver and very heavy.

Advantages of the linear model:

  • Pass through all doors because it is as wide as a normal stroller. Check the length of the stroller to see if it enters the elevator for example.

Disadvantages of the online model:

  • Nearly only the rear seat reclines completely, intended for the smaller child and the front seat has few recline positions.

  • Some models do not fit in the elevators, because they are excessively long.

Stroller in parallel

These baby strollers are as short as an individual stroller but many of them are almost as wide as two normal strollers and are special for children of the same age.

Advantages of the parallel model

  • Offers several recline positions for both babies, being able to give each seat a degree of reclination different from that of the other seat.

  • If the seats recline completely, you can use this double stroller from birth.

  • The two children have full vision of the landscape, being very comfortable for children.

  • There are versions that can be folded up in order to occupy less space for storage or transportation by car.

Disadvantages of the parallel model

  • Although every time you work more on this concept, not all models fit through the doors, so it is important that you have a paragon type folding.

  •  If it is not folded and you have the children inside the stroller, its width is considerable to pass through certain places.

Some aspects to consider when choosing double baby strollers, siblings, twins and twins are:

  • If the seats recline completely, this is how it works since birth.

  • If to recline the seat, the process is easy and it is done with one hand.

  • Regarding the issue of safety, it is convenient to have a harness with several points or anchors (five would be ideal).

  • The size of the hood, if it has UV protection and if it can be adjusted in height to adapt to the child's growth.

  • If you have suspension on the rear wheels.

  • If you have a basket and its size. If we plan to use the chair to go shopping with the children, we will need more cargo space. Also check the disposition of the different loading spaces as well as their accessibility with the children inside the stroller.

  • If the handlebar is ergonomic and if the footrest is adjustable.

  • If the front barral has an opening.

  • If the stroller is folded. See the size that folded, if it fits in the car and if the process is easy.

  • if it has compact and reinforced structure.

  • View the weight of the car, the lighter the better, to be able to maneuver it more easily. Remember that when pushing, you must add your weight to the weight of the children, who will increase their weight as the months pass, which is why it is important that the same cart is not too heavy.

  • The maximum weight of both children that the cart supports.

Finally, if the older child is big enough, one option is the Skateboards with universal adapters for baby strollers, where the skateboard is attached to the end of the stroller, the child stands on it, has an anti-slip surface and an innovative system which allows easy adjustment and installation. With the skateboard, the older son has to learn to hold on well and the skates force the parents to go with the most extended arms.
